Kaun Banega Crorepati is premiering from September 28 on Sony TV at 9 pm from Monday-Friday. The popular game show is coming back with the 12th season amid the ongoing COVID-19. While the world is still trying to adapt to the new normal amid the safety guidelines and right precautions, the makers of KBC 12 have also made a few changes in the format of the show to make it safe for their team, and host Amitabh Bachchan. The biggest change that the makers have introduced this year is the removal of a live audience poll. One of the lifelines that anyone sitting on the hot-seat could avail earlier was taking the ‘audience poll’ from the people present on the sets itself. However, keeping in mind the social distancing guidelines, the makers have completely ruled out the live-audience poll and replaced it with another lifeline. Now if you have followed KBC in its initial years, you’d know that the makers began with a lifeline called ‘phone a friend.’ For the latest season, they have brought back the same lifeline with a slight upgrade. The makers have introduced ‘video a friend’ lifeline in which the contestant can talk to a friend on a video to seek his help for an answer. There would be the same 60-seconds clock running to conclude a conversation. The rest of the three lifelines, however, remain the same. This includes 50-50 in which a contestant can have two wrong options removed from his/her computer screens, the Ask The Expert lifeline in which an expert present online will help the contestant, and the option of ‘flip the question’ in which a contestant can change the question and have a new question instead.
The second change that the makers have brought into the format is having only eight people playing the fastest fingers first round. This has been done to avoid too many people on the sets during the game.
The rest of the features like playing KBC live on SonyLiv App, and trying to win the price remains the same.
So, all set?
