Actress Tinaa Datta, who’s more popularly known as Ichcha of the small screen, has accused co-star Mohit Malhotra of inappropriately touching her on the sets of Daayan, a supernatural show on &TV. The actress has stated that she has reported her concerns to the Balaji Telefilms, Ekta Kapoor‘s brand which produces the show. Talking to Pinkvilla, Tinaa mentioned that the production team has been very supportive and she has full faith that the issue will be sorted soon. Tina was quoted by the portal saying, “When we shoot a tv show there are lot of problems, big / small / ugly … I have raised my issues (related to Mohit) with the production team and they have been very supportive. I am thrilled to work with Balaji after many years. I leave the issues with them to sort …. thanks. The report quoted a source close to the development alleging that Mohit’s behaviour has been offensive on the sets and most people are aware of it. The source claimed that Tinaa has been dealing with him for some time now, however, he didn’t care for the warnings issued to him and continued his behaviour, which made the actress feel uncomfortable and she broke down. The report further suggests that Mohit denied the allegations and maintained he shares a cordial relationship with Tinaa. When asked about performing intimate scenes with her, he said he has hardly filmed any.
Earlier, in her interview with Bombay Times, Tinaa revealed that she had been in an abusive relationship. She was quoted by the daily saying, “I was in a relationship with a non-industry guy for five years. We had met through common friends. But I called time on it, because he was extremely abusive, verbally and physically.”
She added, “I would get bashed up even in front of my friends. I went bonkers to an extent that my confidence took a beating. I never wanted to go public with my relationship, but I feel that it’s time to speak up.”
