Twinkle Khanna, who is popularly known as Mrs Funnybones turns a year older today, on December 29. She shares her birthday with her late father, superstar Rajesh Khanna. Earlier today, she took to Instagram to share a nostalgic post for the birth anniversary of the actor. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar also took to Instagram to share a post wishing Twinkle Khanna and Rajesh Khanna on their birthday. In the post, he shared a throwback picture of a teenage Twinkle posing with her parents- Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia. His post reads, “While growing up I’d heard fascinating tales of his superstardom, never imagining one day I’ll marry his fascinating daughter…thank you for giving me this precious one❤️ Happy birthday to both of you.” (sic)

The veteran actor, Rajesh Khanna was born in Amritsar, Punjab on December 29, 1942. He made his entry to the world of films in 1965, when he started shooting for Raaz and starred in 180 films, including 163 feature films and 17 short films. By 2011, he was the only actor to hold a record for a maximum number of films as a solo lead hero and the least number of multi-star cast films in Hindi cinema. His first tryst with success as an actor was ‘Akhri Khat’, followed by ‘Raaz’ and ‘Aurat’. He achieved superstardom status with Shakti Samantha’s ‘Aradhana’ in 1969. He also holds the world record for having 17 successive super-hits in 3 years from 1969-71 which included 15 consecutive solo super-hit films. The actor also bagged the Filmfare Best Actor Awards for three occasions and was nominated 14 times for the same.
