Playback singer Udit Narayan dedicated the song ‘Mitwa’ from the film Lagaan (2001) to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during a meeting with film fraternity members in Lucknow. The 64-year-old singer was part of the meeting to discuss a proposed plan of building a film city in UP. During the meeting, Narayan got up from his chair and started singing ‘Mitwa’. The gesture was applauded by all the attendees and clapped their hands while Adityanath joined his hands. The meeting was attended by Ravi Kishan, Kailash Kher, Raju Srivastava, Manoj Joshi among others.As per the PTI report, CM Yogi Adityanath expressed confidence that the proposed Film City in the state will live up to the expectations of the industry.

“Indian cinema needs a new stage, it is the need of the hour. The state government will cooperate fully in this. There should be Indianness in our mind, we should not keep it anywhere other than ourselves. If we work with this sentiment, then Uttar Pradesh government will cooperate fully in this”, the message was shared on Twitter by official handle  CM Office, UPGo

Recently, Yogi Adityanath had said that the proposed Film City in UP will be made in the area located on Yamuna Expressway which connect Delhi to Agra.
