Just when we thought the week (Feb 19 – Feb 23) is going to be a dull one in Bollywood, we had some interesting surprises coming our way. Varun Dhawan made headlines this week for his new film and his relationship status. The actor will be seen in Karan Johar – Shashank Khaitan’s Rannbhoomi, where he will play a warrior. This will be a first for the actor and he is obviously excited about this project. When the news of the film broke, there were reports that Rannbhoomi is nothing else but a reboot of Shhuddhi. However, the makers have quashed the claims. Moving on to the actor’s personal space, looks like he is all set to tie the knot with his long time girlfriend Natasha Dalal.
India.com had exclusively informed readers how the actor decided to move out of his parents house so that he can move in with his lady love and iron out all the issues before taking the relationship to the next level. Fresh reports suggest that the couple has reached the point where they know they are made for each other and we might hear wedding bells this year.
Another Bollywood couple that made news this week is Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani – the rumoured couple’s Baaghi 2 is all set to hit screens this year and the trailer released this week. A La Rambo, Tiger looks all set to impress his fans with some awe-inspiring stunts and complementing him will be his alleged girlfriend Disha. Talking about a new film, after being in the middle of an ugly controversy, Sara Ali Khan’s debut film Kedarnath seems to be back on track.
The film that is produced by KriArj and directed by Abhishek Kapoor, also starring Sushant Singh Rajput, was stalled due to a fallout between the producer and director. But despite the ‘see you in the court’ threats, the two sorted out their issues. The crew has just kickstarted a new schedule and so, not all is lost!
Another controversy that had everyone’s attention this week is about Priyanka Chopra’s picture in the Assam Tourism Calendar. Some members of the Congress claimed that the short frock that the actress is seen wearing in the calendar is inappropriate and not in sync with Assamese culture, tradition and values. The demand was to ban the calendar and replace Priyanka with another actress, preferably from Assam. However, the tourism board stood its ground and found nothing wrong with Priyanka’s picture and therefore refused to pull it out.
The week also saw some new beginnings. Akshay Kumar started shooting for Kesari, the film based on the historical battle of Saragarhi. He posted a picture from the sets, where he was seen posing with some adorable kids who play Afghani in the film. Akshay looked the part and we cannot wait to see the battle unfold on the big screens. Kesari also brings together Akshay and Parineeti Chopra for the first time. She will be seen playing his wife and she recently admitted how excited she is to be part of the film and how it is a dream a come true for her to work with Akshay. However, there is still time for her to join her dream co-star on the sets.
Parineeti is currently in Amritsar, where she has kick-started the shooting of Namastey England with her Ishaqzaade and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar co-star Arjun Kapoor, Before taking the film on floors, Arjun, Pari and their director Vipul Amrutlal Shah headed to Golden Temple to seek blessings to give their film the perfect start.
While the aforementioned two were in Punjab, another schedule of a much awaited film went on floors in Bikaner, Rajasthan. Kangana Ranaut is on a roll to complete her period film. Pictures of her shooting at the Junagarh fort were out on Thursday and had fans in awe with many suggesting that she will give Deepika Padukone’s Padmaavat avatar a run for her money. We agree as well. Bold, fierce, elegant and on point – Kangana is set to slay.
As we move into the next week, we have Anushka Sharma’s Pari coming our way. The film is set for a Holi, March 2 release and the screamers and posters have already made sure that the curiosity around this psychological thriller is at its peak. Also, since Akshay’s Kesari is slotted for a release on Holi 2019, and since he has already started shooting for it, we might get to see another glimpse of the film on March 2.
