After singer Kanika Kapoor was tested positive for the coronavirus on Friday, former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje announced that she’s going under self-quarantine along with her son Dushyant Singh. Both Raje and her son attended the party in which Kanika was also present along with other prominent politicians and executives. Raje took to Twitter and mentioned that she has decided to stay in isolation after finding out that Kanika was tested positive for the COVID-19. Her tweet read, “While in Lucknow, I attended a dinner with my son Dushyant & his in-laws. Kanika, who has unfortunately tested positive for #Covid19 was also a guest. Earlier on Friday, Kanika made an Instagram post confirming that she had contracted the virus and was being admitted in Lucknow. The popular singer mentioned that she had mild flu and initial symptoms but she has been taking her health seriously. Kanika also urged others to take necessary precautions and get themselves check in case of cold and flu. “At this stage, I would like to urge you all to practice self-isolation and get tested if you have the signs.
I am feeling ok, like a normal flu and a mild fever, however we need to be sensible citizens at this time and think of all around us,” Kanika wrote in her Instagram post.
Kanika is the first Bollywood celebrity to have gone public with her diagnosis. The singer is being criticised for reportedly hiding her travel history and partying around.
