Tamil actor, scriptwriter, director Visu passes away on March 22, 2020 at the age of 74 due to kidney disorder. The announcement of his demise was made by Entertainment Industry Tracker, Ramesh Bala on Twitter. Taking to micro-blogging site, he wrote, “Veteran Tamil Actor, Script Writer and Director of several movies and a Theatre Artist #Visu passed away sometime back.. Popular for Family based dramas and comedy.. Condolences to his family.. Meenakshisundaram Ramasamy Viswanthan was best known by his stage name Visu initially worked as an assistant to director K. Balachander until he became a director himself. He later began acting with his first film Kudumbam Oru Kadambam. In the films directed by him, he always gave equal importance to all the characters and often a joint family would reside and character of Visu would solve their problems.
His films such as Samsaram Adhu Minsaaram, Penmani Aval Kanmani, Thirumathi Oru Vegumathi, Ketti Melam, Vaai Sollil Veerandi, Raja Thandiram, Dowry Kalyanam, Sakalakaala Sambandhi, Pudhiya Sagaptham, Naanayam Ilatha Nanayam, Varvu Nalla Uravu, Vedikkai En Vadikkai, Manal Kayiru, Puyal Kadantha Bhoomi, Urimai Oonjal Adigirathu, Kanmani Poonga, Pattukottai Periyappa and Vaa Magale Vaa became blockbuster hits in their respective release years.
He is survived by his wife Uma and three daughters Lavanya, Sangeetha and Kalpana.
