Did Vidya Balan’s Dream Of Playing Meena Kumari On Screen Just Come True?

This is not the first time that VB is playing an RJ. She has played the part in Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006). However, while Jhanvi (from LRMB) was sprightly, Sulu is supposed to be sensuous in her conversations with the listeners.

Apart from Vidya, Tumhari Sulu stars Manav Kaul, Vijay Maurya, Neha Dhupia, Shantanu Ghatak and Uday Lagoo among others. The film is directed by Suresh Triveni and will be his first feature film. He has earlier directed short films like Dedh Footiya, My Daddy Strongest and Conditions Apply (all in 2009).
