After the delay in release owing to all the controversies and protests, Padmaavat finally locked January 25, 2018 as its release date. Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero  which also stars Katrina Kaif and directed by Aanand L Rai and Sushant Singh Rajput’s Kedarnath, launching Sara Ali Khan and directed by Abhishek Kapoor are both set for a December 21, 2018 release date. However, most were hoping that one of the films will shift the date and a clash will be avoided. In fact, considering that SRK and Kat are superstars with massive fan following, Kedarnath had reason to worry. ALSO READ: Sushant Singh Rajput Being Difficult On The Sets Of Kedarnath? The director stands firm and looks in no mood to change his plan even if it means lower opening day or weekend figures. than in a scenario where Kedarnath. Interestingly, the films release on Friday (21) and Christmas on 25th falls on a Tuesday. So technically it is not a long weekend. Those who take Monday 24th off, would ideally do so if they have travel plans, in which case, most may not go into the theatres to watch a film or will pick one over the other instead of watching both the films.

Zero and Kedarnath will surely eat into each other’s business. Now, it remains to be seen if Shah Rukh decides to release his film a day in advance or at least launch paid previews to ensure a good opening for his ambitious project.
