The current situation between India and Pakistan post the Uri terror attack has attracted a lot of attention. The two countries are at loggerheads with each other and things have taken an ugly turn now. Political parties in India have decided to take advantage of the situation by issuing a ban on Pakistani artists who are working in India. Moreover, they were asked to leave the country within 48 hours as well. As an aftermath towards the ban, PEMRA has banned airing of Indian shows in Pakistan. The situation is just going from bad to worse and things are very unlikely to change soon.
Sajid Khan and Riteish Deshmukh have come together for a new chat show titled as Yaaron Ki Baraat. This will be aired on Zee TV, and they will meet people from the industry and try to resolve any problem between them. The duo met the press and talked about the show and the ongoing situation of turmoil in the country. Sajid said, “The truth is that we are at a state of war with Pakistan and we are proud Indians. We need to respect our nation first. So if Pakistani actors have been asked to leave, they should abide by it.”
Banjo actor, Riteish Deshmukh also had a similar opinion. He also considers the country before everything and anyone else. He added, “Like every other Indian I back Indian Army and Narendra Modiji for the surgical strike after the Uri attack. When someone provokes you, at some point or the other you ought to respond them and I feel this was the right response.” The actor believes that since we live in a democratic nation, we have the right to express our opinion. “If completely isolating Pakistan can pressurise their government, we shall support our country. We are the citizens of India. Also India-Pakistan is such a huge issue. Unfortunately, we end up making film industry bigger than it deserves to be,” added Riteish.
The filmmaker and the actor then talked about their upcoming show and its format. “We shall bring in two friends who have had their own share of misunderstandings and reconciled. Like Sajid Nadiadwala and I were at loggerheads for a couple of years because of which I didn’t do Housefull 3. I recall that Riteish would often ask to give him a call and sort things out as every friendship goes through ups and downs,” said Sajid. Yaaron Ki Baraat will also have Riteish interviewing Sajid Nadiawala and Sajid Khan. (ALSO READ: Will maintain dignity of guests coming to my show: Riteish Deshmukh)
Further elaborating on what the new talk show is all about, Sajid said, “Maintaining the guests’ dignity is our priority and we would not pull down or humiliate anyone. There are different ways to make people laugh,” said Sajid. Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrugan Sinha are the first guests of the show. The list of guests also includes Karan Johar-Farah Khan, Parineeti Chopra-Sania Mirza, and Vishal-Shekhar among others.
