The concertgoers revealed that the boos that the 23-year-old singer received following the announcement were “deafening,” addeing that many ticketholders left even before Tinie Tempah took to the stage to close the show, News.com.au reports. However, the ‘Pillowtalk’ hit-maker received support from his model girlfriend Gigi Hadid, who tweeted that she is proud of his “bravery” and that his honesty last night proved how “real” he is.

Notably, it is not the first time Malik has been a no-show at the last minute. Earlier, he had cancelled an appearance on ‘The Graham Norton Show’ and an interview with BBC Radio One’s Greg James.
