The Hindu festival of Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated tomorrow on August 25, 2017 all over India with much pomp, fervor, and devotion. The festival marks the birth of Lord Ganesha, the younger son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Lord Ganesha is worshiped as the remover of obstacles and he is the first to be invoked in any puja. The Ganpati festival is one of the most important festivals of Maharashtra and goes on for the whole of ten days from Ganesh Chaturthi to Anant Chaturdashi. This year the festival will be celebrated from August 25 to September 5. 1. Jai Ganesh Jai Ganesh Jai Ganesh Deva – Lord Ganesh Aarti

This is the most popular aarti of Lord Ganesha. It hails the elephant god along with his parents Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The song is in simple Hindi, easy to understand and melodious to sing. It hails Lord Ganesha’s qualities of fulfilling his devotees’ dreams and prayers.

2. Sukh Karta Dukh Harta – Lord Ganesh Aarti

This Ganpati Aarti in Marathi is very serene and has a calming effect on whoever listens to the song. The song talks about the peaceful and happy demeanor of Lord Ganesha and applauds his love for his devotees. The aarti also celebrates his parents Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and elucidates Lord Ganesha’s deeds and achievements which have made him the favourite God of Hindus.

3. Sindoor Lal Chadhayo

Sindoor Lal Chadhayo is sung in the same tune as Sukh Karta Dukh Harta and is actually from the movie Vaastav that starred Sanjay Dutt and Namrata Shirodkar in lead roles. It is a simplified Hindi version of the Marathi Ganpati Aarti.

4. Ekadantaya Vakratundaya Gauri Tanaya

This bhajan in Sanskrit is one of the most popular and well-loved Lord Ganesha bhajan and the fact that singer Shankar Mahadevan has sung it so beautifully that it invigorates your entire body and makes you feel at peace with the world.

5. Shree Ganesha Deva – Agneepath

This song from Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra starrer Agneepath has become the new age cult classic when it comes to devotional songs picturized on Lord Ganesha. Sung by Sukhwinder Singh and composed by Ajay-Atul this song has become the new anthem for all Ganpati celebrations.
