Lalbaugcha Raja Ganesh Utsav 2017 will begin on August 25 followed by Lalbaugcha Raja Mukh Darshan and Aarti.
The time of the year has come again when Mumbai’s air will be filled with chants of ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’. The 11-day long Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated remembering Lord Ganesha’s birthday, and a significant festival in the state of Maharashtra will begin on August 25, 2017. One of Mumbai’s oldest and most famous Ganpati idol, Lalbaugcha Raja of Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal has also arrived in full glory for Ganesh Chaturthi 2017. The most famous Sarvajanik Ganapati is a prime centre of attention of all the devotees seeking blessings from the Elephant God. The followers in thousands will flock the Lalbaughcha Raja Pandal in Mumbai for the Mukh Darshan with timings announced by the organizers. The devotees can also catch a glimpse of benevolent God with live telecast and streaming options made available. As one of the most popular Hindu festivals, Ganeshotsav witnesses a massive enthusiasm from the devotees. From invoking Lord Ganesha to homes to installing his colourful statues to visiting pandals, the energy and liveliness of followers reflect the true festive spirit of Ganesh Chaturthi. Lalbaughcha Raja, the most famous Sarvajanik Ganapati epitomizes the faith devotees have on the God of new beginnings. The popular Lord Ganesha idol of the Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal is kept for 11 days before the Visarjan (immersion in water) on Anant Chaturdashi. The Lalbaugcha Raja Ganpati which was first installed on September 12, 1934, is now in its 83rd year on Ganesh Chaturthi 2017. It is believed that this Idol of Lord Ganesha is Navsacha Ganpati, which means the “one who fulfills all wishes”. Such is the devotion for Lalbaugcha Raja Ganpati Maharaj that 1.5 million people including biggest of celebrities visit this Ganesh Pandal daily during the 10-day Ganesha festival. Lalbaugcha Raja Mukh Darshan, Charan Sparsh, Darshan with grand Opening Ceremony on August 25 will officially kick-start Ganesh Chaturthi 2017 celebrations.
Lalbaugcha Raja 2017 Mukh Darshan
According to the information available on official website, Lalbaugcha Raja Ganesh Utsav 2017 will be inaugurated on Friday 25th August 2017, early morning 4.00 AM by the Mandal’s President Mr.Balasaheb Sudam Kamble. Pratishthapana Puja will further follow the same. After the Puja, Lalbaugcha Raja 2017 Darshan will be opened to all the devotees from early morning 6.00 AM onwards, and the Lalbaugcha Raja souvenir for 2017 will be published. The Morning Aarti will take place at 12.30 PM, by the Mandal’s President Mr.Balasaheb Sudam Kamble. The Evening Aarti will take place at 08.30 PM. Udhyanand Seva Mandal will manage the Jagran for the first night.
Lalbaugcha Raja Mukh Darshan will be available for 24 hours from early morning 6.00 AM, Friday – 25th August 2017 onwards. The Mukh Darshan will be closed on Monday – 4th September 2017, midnite 12.00 PM. MUKH DARSHAN line will take the following route:- Chhatrapati Shivaji Ground (Garam Khada) – Dr.B.A. Road – Dattaram Lad Marg – T.B. Kadam Marg – Add’l C.P. office – Dr B.A. Road – RANI BAUG on Central Line. To reach here, one can come from Chinchpokali or Byculla Station. (Depending upon the length of the line) The Mukh Darshan queue is also reachable from Cotton Green Station on Harbour Railway.)
Ganesh Chaturthi commences on the fourth day of Hindu Luni-solar calendar month Bhadrapada. It is believed that Lord Ganesh, son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati was born on Shukla Paksha Chaturthi in Magh month (fourth day of the bright half of moon’s cycle during January/February), decided by Hindu calendar (lunar calendar). Ganesh Chaturthi festival is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, or Ganeshotsav is celebrated to remember his birthday and venerates him as the god of good beginnings, fortune, wisdom, prosperity and obstacle remover (Vighnaharta).
