As per the legends, when Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati were meditating, their energies combined into divinity. It was foretold that the child born out of the energies will kill the demon Tarakasur and thus, Lord Indra instructed Lord Agni to steal this divine energy. Navratri 2020 Day 5 Puja Vidhi
It is believed that worshipping Goddess Skandamata keeps enemies and difficult times at bay. Devotees also believe that Goddess Skandamata blesses those who are facing issues in having a child. The devotees take a bath early morning and then begin worshipping the Devi on the 5th day of the Navratri. The Puja thali should include Batasha (white sugar drop candy), Betel leaf, areca nut, a pair of clove, raisins, lotus seeds, camphor, gugal, cardamom. Once you have added all the required items along with a flower, incense sticks and sweets to your thali, begin performing the aarti and seek blessings from Maa Skandamata.
