The auspicious month of Sawan, Shravan or Shraavana is considered as the holiest of months according to the Hindu calendar. The fifth month of Hindu Callender is dedicated to Lord Shiva and this year the holy month begins from July 23 and will last till August 22, 2018. For many Hindus, the month of Shraavana is a month of fasting. Many Hindus will fast every Monday to Lord Shiva and/or every Tuesday to the Goddess Parvati.
