Croatia’s Mario Mandzukic got an unwarranted record against his name in the final of FIFA World Cup 2018 as he scored an own goal against France in the 18th-minute of the match. The Croatian striker became the first player to score an own goal in the World Cup final.
France started the match as the massive favourites, whereas, the Croatian’s journey to the final of the biggest sporting event in the history has been nothing short of an inspirational tale.

Antonie Griezman converted a penalty in the 38th-minute of the match. It was the first time that three goals have been scored in the first-half of the summit clash in World Cup history. France has again taken the lead within 10 minutes of losing it.

Meanwhile, it is the first time Croatia has made it to the summit clash against a team that is eyeing its second World Cup triumph.
