Delhi-NCR is witnessing a sudden and steep uptick in number of viral cases across the city. Cases of influenza have been reported in several hospitals. According to a latest study conducted by Local Circle, about 54 per cent of Delhi households have reported that one or more individuals in every home have complained of Covid, flu, viral fever like symptoms. The survey also found that small children and the elderly (those over 50) are most at risk for contracting these symptoms.
The flu outbreak in Delhi-NCR is reportedly being linked to the change of season, rise in air pollution, spread of different types of viruses etc. Seasonal illness are common health concern.
Upper respiratory tract infection, fever, cough are first warning signs of the flu like disease.
Common Symptoms:
The severity of symptoms may vary person to person. In children, diarrhea, vomiting is a common issue. One of the common symptoms is of prolonged cough and breathing issues.
Symptoms begin within a period of one to four days from the time of exposure and last anywhere up to a week. In rare situations, flu complications such as pneumonia can develop, especially in children, older adults, and persons with chronic health disorders.
