Here’s a Way to Test if Your Turmeric is Adulterated | Read on
We have brought to you a simple test to check if your turmeric is adulterated or not.
Turmeric has been used as an ancient remedy since the time of dawn. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory and anti-carcinogenic properties. However, it is difficult to identify the authenticity these days. They come with added colour, texture or artificial flavour. They are highly unhealthy and can lead to major diseases.
News Medical posted a report which showed the turmeric growth in Bangladesh. The turmeric contained highly poisonous heavy metal that was 500 times above the normal level. According to the report, seven out of nine turmeric production districts grew adulterated turmeric. They are bright yellow and also have a component called ‘chromate.’
FSSAI (Food Safety & Standards Authority of India) shared a video on Twitter. The video showed how to determine the difference between adulterated and original turmeric.
