MS Dhoni’s Team India maintained their winning streak in ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 after they posted a comfortable 9-wicket victory over United Arab Emirates at the WACA Ground in Perth Saturday. The Match 21 of 2015 Cricket World Cup, India vs United Arab Emirates was always touted to be a one-sided affair but very few would have expected such a rampage by Team India. Led by Ravichandran Ashwin, Indian cricket team’s bowling attack scripted defending champion’s victory in the first innings of the match itself. 1—Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar strike early

India’s new ball bowlers, Umesh Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar struck early on to remove both the UAE openers. It was Yadav who scalped first wicket when he had Andri Berenger caught behind in second over of UAE innings. Four overs later, Bhuvi, who is playing in his first World Cup match, removed Amjad to leave UAE at 13 for two inside five overs.

2—Lack of partnership as inexperience reflected in UAE side

UAE batsmen failed to stitch partnerships and that was one of the main reasons they were bundled out for paltry 102. There were only three double-digit partnerships with highest being 31 for the last wicket between Shaiman Anwar and Manjula Guruge. Inside 17 overs half of the UAE side was back in the hutch for just 44 runs on board. Anwar was the only batsman to go past 20 runs while Khurram Khan scored 14, the second best.

3—Ravichandran Ashwin’s weaves magic

He produced the best bowling figures of his ODI career by taking an impressive four wickets for 25 runs. It looked like he could get a fifer but nevertheless Ashwin’s brilliance at Perth broke the backbone of an inexperienced UAE batting unit. Ashwin’s disciplined effort has been one of the high points in India’s recent found success in the tournament.

4—Shaiman Anwar, UAE cricket’s next big hope!

One cannot take anything away from UAE’s next big hope – Shaiman Anwar. After smashing brilliant century in the last match against Ireland, Anwar displayed determination against rampaging Indian bowling attack in Perth. He made a gutsy 35 off 49 deliveries including six boundaries. He is definitely becoming UAE’s face after Khurram Khan.

5—Team India’s dominance

After Indian cricket team’s string of losses Down Under, first against Australia in Test Series and later in the Mid Carlton Tri-Series, one had brushed aside India from the favourites list. But with the recent turnaround in ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, MS Dhoni’s Men in Blue is looking an invincible unit. They are not just winning matches but dominating the match.
