Earlier in the Bangladesh innings, Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur Rahim powered the side to score 275/7 in 50 overs. Mahmudullah scored his maiden ODI century to become the first Bangladeshi batsman to record hundred in World Cups. The previous best score any Bangladesh player in world cup stage was Tamim Iqbal’s 95 against Scotland made in the ongoing tournament. English spearhead James Anderson struck some form in the match after he removed openers in the first three overs to leave Bangladesh struggling. But it was commendable work by Bangladesh batsmen to make a comeback and set a fighting total on board in their bid to qualify for quarterfinals.
