England fast-bowler Steve Finn became England’s first bowler to pick up a hat-trick in an ICC Cricket World Cup tournament. Finn took the wickets of Brad Haddin, Glenn Maxwell, and Mitchell to achieve this feat. Bowling the last over in the first innings of the Australia vs England ICC World Cup 2015 match, the three middle-lower order batsmen got out to spectacular catches, each better than the previous. 1. 49.4 Steve Finn to Brad Haddin, catch out; Finn bowls a full delivery to which Haddin slogs and miscues, the thick edge flies to third-man region where Stuart Broad takes a catch tumbling forward.

2. 49.5 Steve Finn to Glenn Maxwell, catch out; Finn tries to york Maxwell, but with Maxwell being Maxwell tries to send the ball over the boundary ropes only to find Joe Root taking a blinder! Root begins from long-off and out of the blue catches diving in front of the sightscreen.

3. 49.6 Steve Finn to Mitchell Johnson, caught out; Johnson tries to clear the mid-off region but finds James Anderson completing a spectacular catch. Becomes the first England bowler to take a hat trick in a World Cup match.

Earlier it was all Aaron Finch and later Glenn Maxwell show for Australia. Finch along with David Warner gave Australia a stupendous start against England. It was Stuart Broad’s double-strikes which brought the Poms back in the game. The match between arch-rivals Australia and England in second match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 at Melbourne Cricket Ground saw Australia pile up a mammoth score of 342/9 wickets.
