The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced their final 15-man squad for tld he ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, jointly co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand. Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been named the captain while Virat Kohli will be the vice-Captain of the side in ICC World Cup 2015 after being handed over the Test captaincy recently. The World Cup 2011 hero, Yuvraj Singh whose name was highly discussed following the brilliant run on the domestic circuit, failed to make the cut in the final squad. Carrying the immense responsibility of retaining the World Cup trophy will be a huge task for these 15-players selected for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. BCCI’s national selection committee, headed by Sandeep Patil have been under pressure in picking the most balanced team that could defend the title in the bouncy, hostile wickets of Australia and New Zealand. Picking the right mix of players for the World Cup 2015 was not an easy game for the selectors. There were fitness concerns about players like all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who returned from the Australia tour midway citing shoulder injury. Pacer Ishant Sharma also put himself under serious doubt after he pulled out of 4th Test match in Sydney with a knee injury.
After hanging up his boots in Test cricket recently, MS Dhoni will now wholly concentrate on bringing the world glory back to India. After leading the nation World Cup victory in 2011 with a scintillating unbeaten 91, Captain Cool is once again handed the task to repeat the glittering array of silverware that the Men in Blue have won during his tenure . He is well supported by in-form man and deputy, Virat Kohli who has proved his mettle on Australian soil.
