Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Qualifier 2 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015 by three wickets to set up a finals clash with Mumbai Indians (MI) on May 24, Sunday. Chasing a paltry score of 140, Super Kings got home in the last over thanks to a scintillating half-century by Michael Hussey. Super Kings chase began on a wobbling note with opener Dwayne Smith dismissed in the fifth over. After that Hussey along with Faf du Plessis steadied the ship with a 40-run stand. Just when CSK were cruising Yuzvendra Chahal strike twice in his over to leave Men in Yellow tottering at 61 for two inside ten overs.
Despite losing wickets, Hussey showed no signs of bogging down and kept piling runs from another end. The left-hander scored a crucial half-century to keep his side in contention. Hussey was then dismissed on an individual score of 56 off 46 balls. After Hussey’s dismissal skipper, MS Dhoni guided his team to the victory with a knock of 26 runs. Dhoni was then dismissed in last over with CSK needing just one run from two balls. Ravi Ashwin eventually hit the winning single as Super Kings qualified for yet another final.
