Delhi Daredevils snatched a thrilling four-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad to earn their second victory in the 2015 Indian Premier League (IPL) in four outings at the ACA-VDCA Stadium. Two brilliant half-centuries from opener Shreyas Iyer (60) and Captain JP Duminy (54) guided the Daredevils to a competitive total of 167/4 in 20 overs. In reply, the hosts could only manage 163/8 with Man of the Match Duminy also starring with the ball, taking 4/17 in four overs.
Opting to bat, Daredevils did not start well as they lost opening batsman Mayank Agarwal (1) cheaply in only the third over. But a 78-run second-wicket partnership between Iyer and Duminy revived the innings. The two performances were the only notable contributions from the Daredevils batsmen.
Highlights of Day 11, April 18, Match 14: Andre Russell powers KKR to thumping win over KXIP
Man of the match Andre Russell cracked a scintillating 35-ball 66 to power Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) home from a precarious position against Kings XI Punjab in an Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015 encounter. Russel was aptly supported by the hard-hitting Yusuf Pathan who made an unbeaten 28 of 24 balls (4×4) at the Maharashtra Cricket Association stadium.
Replying to the kings’ 155/9, the Knights reached 159/6, to register a four wicket victory with 13 balls to spare. The Jamaican Russell, who bagged two wickets earlier in the evening, kept on clobbering the hapless KXIP bowlers all round the park plundering nine fours and two sixes enroute, as he led the ,Knights’ recovery after they looked at sea losing half their batsmen inside eight overs, with only 60 on board.
Day 12 Schedule, April 19 Match 15: Super Kings, Royals clash for the top ranking
A top-of-the-table clash awaits cricketing fans as Rajasthan Royals (RR) meet two-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a high-voltage Indian Premier League (IPL) clash at the Sardar Patel Stadium on April 19. Both teams have a 100 percent winning record so far this season with CSK having played three matches, one short of the Royals.
Super Kings’ last win against the Mumbai Indians came on Friday night at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, chasing a formidable total of 183/7. The men-in-yellow got over the line with ease with six wickets and 20 deliveries in hand. Royals on the other hand had to face a few setbacks in their hunt for 127 runs against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in their last encounter. They eventually got home on the last ball, courtesy a James Faulkner boundary.
Match 15 Prediction: Rajasthan Royals vs Chennai Super Kings
The Steve Smith-led team has hardly put a foot wrong in absence of their regular skipper Shane Watson. But they know they will have muddy patches to tread through when they face the formidable CSK side. Looks like an even-steven clash, both Royals and Super Kings would be tested to the fullest against each other in this IPL 2015 fixture. The Match 15, Rajasthan Royals vs Chennai Super Kings will take place at the Sardar Patel Stadium. Ahmedabad. The match will start at 4.00 pm IST with the live coverage and telecast done on Sony Max and Sony Six for Indian viewers.
Day 12 Schedule, April 19 Match 16: Must win-game for MI already?
A battered and bruised Mumbai Indians, who have lost all their four games thus far in the 2015 Indian Premier League (IPL), will be hoping for a turnaround in their fortunes here on Sunday when they take on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). For all their firepower in batting, Mumbai Indians stood exposed in the bowling department, especially on Friday night at home, when they failed to defend a top total of 183.
Mumbai Indians can ill afford to lose many more matches if they hope to make it to the playoffs, though it is far too early in the tournament to look that far ahead. On the other hand, RCB, with a win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) followed by a defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad in a home game, are still to find their collective feet this season. Though Gayle gave glimpses of his destructive power with a 56-ball 96 against KKR, but the bowling overall is still to gain appreciable sharpness.
Match 16 Prediction: Royals Challengers Bangalore vs Mumbai Indians
Royal Challengers Bangalore have played the least number of matches in IPl 2015 so far with just two matches that resulted in one win and one loss. Hence their credibilities as a unit is still waiting to come out and the third match against a struggling and morally down Mumbai Indians is good chance for them to boost their confidence. MI who desperately need a win in their fifth match will have to do major turnaround both in their performance as well as in their mindset. The Match 16, Royals Challengers Bangalore vs Mumbai Indians will take place at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. The match will start at 8.00 pm IST with the live coverage and telecast done on Sony Max and Sony Six for Indian viewers.
