Highlights of Day 14, April 21, Match 18: Kings XI Punjab end Rajasthan Royals winning streak via Super Over victory

Kings XI Punjab came from behind to beat table-toppers Rajasthan Royals via the Super Over and end their five-match unbeaten streak in the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Sardar Patel Stadium on April 21. With the scores tied at 191 at the end of regulation period, the match went into the Super Over where Kings XI scored 15/1. In reply, the Royals lost both their available wickets to end at 6/2 in 0.3 overs and lose their first match in six games in the 2015 edition of the Twenty20 tournament.

Earlier in the evening, Kings XI opted to field but things did not go according to plan as Ajinkya Rahane (74) and skipper Shane Watson (45) put up a brilliant 95-run opening-wicket partnership for the Royals as they finished with a huge total of 191. Kings did not begin their chase on a good note losing stand-in-skipper Virender Sehwag cheaply but the real contributions in the chase came from big-hitters Shaun Marsh (65) of Australia and David Miller (54) of South Africa.  In the end, Kings XI needed 14 off the last over, being bowled by James Faulkner. Axar Patel (12 not out) and Mitchell Johnson (13 not out) did enough to push the match into the Super Over.

Day 15 Schedule, April 22 Match 19: KKR look to continue win-streak against Sunrisers

An in-form Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will face a struggling David Warner led-Sunrisers Hyderabad as the defending champions look for another stroll in the park here on Wednesday. Except for a hiccup against the Royal Challengers Bangalore, where the mighty Chris Gayle single-handedly beat KKR, their other three victories have been quite convincing to say the least. On the other hand, the Sunrisers have struggled in almost all their matches so far, except the one against RCB where Warner and his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan hunted down a formidable score of 166.

Match 19 Prediction: Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Kolkata Knight Riders

Defending champions are playing like one formidable unit, improving with each match winning three of the four matches played so far in IPL 2015. KKR under the guidance of their in-form captain Gautam Gambhir boasts of the big-hitters in Yusuf Pathan and Jamaican Andre Russell that pose a huge threat to the Sunrisers bowling line-up. Hyderabad have just won one match out of the four played, something their inspiring Aussie skipper David Warner would not pleased with.

SRH have faltered in the final round of two matches against Royals and Daredevils and would like to change the course of tide against the Knights. The Match 19, Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Kolkata Knight Riders will take place at the ACA-VDCA Stadium. The match will start at 4.00 pm IST with the live coverage and telecast done on Sony Max and Sony Six for Indian viewers.

Day 15 Schedule, April 22 Match 20: Acid test for Kohli’s RCB against CSK

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), after back-to-back defeats at home, face a litmus test of their collective ability and character when they take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a southern derby game of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Super Kings too are coming off a loss to league leaders Rajasthan Royals but have performed far better than RCB with three wins in four outings while the hosts languish at the bottom of the table with just two points from three matches.

Virat Kohli’s RCB have not looked the part in the three matches despite starting their campaign with an away win over defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as defeats to Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium here exposed the many chinks in their armour. Despite the respective track record this season, the two southern giants have always been involved in close matches with Super Kings having won nine of the 17 meetings while RCB have come out on top seven times with one game in 2012 being abandoned due to rain.

Match 20 Prediction: Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Chennai Super Kings

The major difference between the two teams this season has been the depth in the Super Kings ranks with proven match winners in contrast to RC,B whose dependence on Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers has made them a tad predictable. Kohli, the third player in the RCB equation, has not quite fired.

The Match 20, Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Chennai Super King will take place at the M Chinnaswamy Satdium, Bangalore. The match will start at 8.00 pm IST with the live coverage and telecast done on Sony Max and Sony Six for Indian viewers. Check Out: IPL 2015 Schedule – All Match Fixtures and Complete Time Table of IPLInputs from agencies.
