Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) play the 19th match of Pepsi IPL 2015 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). KKR won the toss and elected to bowl first putting SRH into bath at Visakhapatnam. Hu=yderabad got off to a blazing start with David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan scoring runs in overdrive.
The first wicket fell with David Warner at 91 runs when he chipped the ball high to be caught by Robin Uthappa off a Morne Morkel delivery. The score for SRH stood at a 130 runs for 1 when the SRH skipper got dismissed in the 15th over. The second wicket fell soon after as Ravi PBopara’s wicket was also clinched by Morne Morkel. The score when SRH lost their second wicket with 143 runs on the score board.
Shikhar Dhawan was still going strong with his individual score just a couple of runs short of a half-century. Sunrisers Hyderabad 149 runs after 17 overs and with 18 more deliveries left to play, a score near 200 runs looked viable if Dhawan and Naman Ojha smacked some entertaining shots around.
After Shikhar Dhawan’s dismissal post scoring 54 runs, SRH stood at 164 runs for the loss of 3 wickets with 6 deliveries left in he game. The first ball goes for a 6 but the second ball is dramatic stumping-uprooting wicket but there is a controversy to add to the drama as the front foot of the bowler is perilously close to the white line on the non-striker’s crease. If any part of the boot is behind the white line then it is a wicket and the bowler takes that one as the wicket was awarded to the bowler.
More drama ensues as the last over is taking forever to finish from Umesh Yadav. A six to start, a controversial wicket, a dot ball and then another wicket but there is no consensus if the full toss was high enough to be called a no-ball but after the third umpire checks the video replay, the on field umpire confirms that it indeed is a no ball. The match wasn’t over and the fourth legitimate delivery gets the edge and flies off the handle just inches from the wicket keepers gloves o go for a 4 to third man. A single off the fifth delivery and the last ball is a dot ball. SRH finish with a score of 177/4 after 20 overs.
