Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who were captained by Shikhar Dhawan for the first part and then by Darren Sammy during the previous season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) ended up at sixth position in league standings. With new season in place SRH have a new captain in Australian opener David Warner and will be looking to start afresh with an eye on their maiden title. Also Read- Full List of Players bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Team for IPL 2015: IPL 8 Players Auction.

Team Composition: Shikhar Dhawan and Warner together form the core of the SRH batting while South African pacer Dale Steyn is all set to head the bowling department. Among international recruits, SRH will have Eoin Morgan, Kane Williamson and Ravi Bopara to choose from to strengthen their batting. In the bowling department, Kiwi left-arm seamer Trent Boult, who finished ICC World Cup 2015 as joint highest wicket-taker with Mitchell Starc, is another option SRH can look to make their bowling sharper.

Among domestic players, in batting, SRH have the services of KL Rahul and wicket-keeper batsman Naman Ojha. In bowling Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ishant Sharma provide them the extra zing. After having let go Amit Mishra this season, Karn Sharma is set to play as the lead spinner and Jammu and Kashmir skipper Parvez Rasool will play second fiddle to him. Also Watch- Indian Premier League 2015 Promo: ‘India ka Tyohaar’ Sony SIX Pepsi IPL 8 ad.

Star Player: Having being relieved of captaincy burden SRH will be hopeful that Shikhar Dhawan comes up with solid performances. The left-hander will be crucial for SRH’s entire campaign, and his form may well decide how IPL 8 pans out for Men in Orange.

Prediction: To start with SRH may not be the favourite to win IPL 8, but with a decent squad in place, berth in playoffs cannot be ruled out. Maybe few good games from there on and we may have a new IPL champion. They are the dark horses for this season. Check Out: IPL 2015 Schedule – All Match Fixtures and Complete Time Table of IPL.
