Advertisement films these days are quite awful, which makes us think: Why were they made in the first place? But the latest commercial made by Pretentious Movie Reviews famed duo Kanan Gill and Biswa Kalyan Rath touches a new low with their Crash the Pepsi IPL – Pyaasi Chudail video. Well, the sole respite and probably the best part is that the ad is so bad that it will make you wonder and laugh at the silliness, which is refreshing!
The eighth edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) invited cricket fans to create their very own advertisement for Pepsi, the principle sponsor of the glamorous cricket tournament. With Pepsi asking them to make their version of a TV commercial with no guidelines whatsoever, Kanan and Biswa made their Pyaasi Chudail ad.
Meanwhile, the official ‘Crash the Pepsi IPL’ website that allows fans to replace their created ads with the original reads the following guidelines – Pepsi challenges you to crash Pepsi IPL by making a 30 second Pepsi ad that we will air during Pepsi IPL. Show your love for Pepsi! Make it fun. Make it epic. Make it uniquely Pepsi! Cos if it’s good, we will yank off our ad and air yours on TV during Pepsi IPL.
Well, please go ahead and making your commercial because even the worst ones will beat the one made by the much loved Pretentious guys! Watch and laugh, not at the ad but their confidence. Sigh! (Edited by Shweta Parande)
