The Match 3 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 8 between Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals saw one of the best catches of all time in cricket history. However the number of relay catches near the boundary ropes have increased manifold, this relay catch of Tim Southee and Karun Nair will push you off the cliff.

The stupendous catch didn’t change the outcome of the game, but it did hit the final nail in KXIP’s coffin. KXIP were on 131 runs for the loss of seven wickets, chasing the target of 163, when George Bailey tried to clear the ground. The mighty heave over the deep midwicket region couldn’t cross the boundary ropes as Tim Southee intercept the shot with a marvelous diving effort. The New Zealand’s pace bowler jumped over to catch the ball and passed it on to Karuna Nair who was latched on the ball, after putting it another diving effort. Being deceived by James Faulkner’s slower ball, Bailey couldn’t time the ball and ball failed to connect it much power.

The relay catch reminds us of how Chris Lynn of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) caught a blinder on the boundary ropes last year’ IPL. Watch the brilliance and alertness of Tim Southee and Karuna Nair as they catch an absolute beauty in Pepsi IPL 2015.
