West Indies players continue to set fielding standards in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the latest to set the field ablaze is Lendl Simmons. The West Indies import in Mumbai Indians (MI) ranks took a screamer to dismiss Yuvraj Singh during the Mumbai Indians vs. Delhi Daredevils (DD) clash at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Yuvraj was well-set after notching up his highest score (57), second half-century, in this year’s IPL. The left-hander looked set to take Daredevils to a competitive total, but Lendl Simmons fielding at backward point pulled off a one-handed stunner to send southpaw back to the hutch in the 19th over. Simmons, who threw himself in the air, not only shocked Yuvraj, but everyone present at the venue. In fact, Simmons received a standing ovation for his acrobatic stuff from MI’s fielding coach and former fielding sensation Jonty Rhodes.

Eventually, Daredevils were restricted to 152 for six in 20 overs. Mumbai Indians recovered well after a poor start to chase down the target with three balls and five wickets to spare. However, it was not the best of outing for Simmons with the bat as he was dismissed for a golden duck by Zaheer Khan on the very first ball of MI chase.
