Indian Air Force has invited applicants to apply for Flying, Technical and Ground Duty branches through prescribed application form available in the official website of IAF. The candidates selected through the AFCAT 2016 would have to undergo courses in the respective branches, beginning from July 2017. The candidates must apply online for the posts before 30 June, 2016. The candidates must undergo the eligibility criteria for each of the branches carefully and then apply for the examination. They must carefully read the official notification and ensure that they qualify for the courses having the required age, educational qualification, physical standards and medical condition. Nationality: The candidates must have an Indian citizenship or should be a subject of Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh or any other country with intent to settle down in India and take permanent citizenship in the country.

Physical Standards:
1. Flying Branch: The candidates must have minimum heifht of 162.5 cms with leg length of minimum 99 cms and vision of 6/6 to apply for the post.
2. Technical Branch: The candidates must have minimum 157.5 cms of height with correltated weight and proper eye vision to apply for the post.
3. Ground Duty Branch: The candidates must have minimum 157.5 cms of height with correlated weight and proper eye vision to apply for the post.

Age Limit:
1. Flying Branch: The candidates must be between 20 to 24 years of age.
2. Technical Branch: The candidates must be between 20 to 26 years of age.
3. Ground Duty Branch: The candidates must be between 20 to 26 years of age.

Educational Qualification:

  • Flying Branch: Candidates having Graduation Degree in any discipline from any recognized university/institute with at least 60% marks can apply for the post.
  • Technical Branch: The candidates having minimum 60% marks in Science stream at the 10+2 level along with B.Tech Degree in relevant Engineering stream from any recognized university/institute can apply for the post.
  • Ground Duty Branch: Candidates having Graduation Degree in any discipline from any recognized university/institute with at least 60% marks can apply for the post. For Accounts post the candidates must have B.Com Degree while for Education post the candidates must have MBA/MCA/MA or M.Sc. degree in any of the subjects to apply for the post.

The candidates must make sure that they have fulfilled the eligibility criteria before applying for the post. Not fulfilling the eligibility criteria would mean disqualification of the candidates.
