WATCH: New Vande Bharat Train 1st Journey From Ernakulam Junction To KSR Bengaluru City Junction

Introducing the Vande Bharat Express, a new train service connecting Bengaluru and Kochi, commencing its inaugural journey from Ernakulam to Bengaluru Cantonment on August 1. Operated by Southern Railway, the train will run three times a week, offering a convenient travel option with 12 trips in each direction. This initiative aims to enhance connectivity and ease transportation between the two bustling cities. Taking to X, Southern Railway on Thursday announced the inaugural journey of the Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat train while the DRM Bengaluru shared a video of the train making the maiden journey.

Ernakulam-Bengaluru Cantonment Vande Bharat schedules, routes:

• 06001 Ernakulam-Bengaluru Cantonment Vande Bharat Special: Departs Ernakulam Junction on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 12:50 pm and arrives at Bengaluru Cantonment at 10:00 pm.
• 06002 Bengaluru Cantonment-Ernakulam Vande Bharat Special: Departs Bengaluru Cantonment on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Mondays at 5:30 am and reaches Ernakulam Junction at 2:20 pm.
• The train will make stops at Thrissur, Palakkad, Podanur, Tiruppur, Erode, and Salem. It features eight coaches, including seven chair cars and one executive class.

Ticket bookings for the new service, managed by IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation), are already underway. The fare for travel between Ernakulam and Bengaluru is Rs. 1,465 for an AC Chair Car and Rs. 2,945 for an Executive Chair Car.
