You have a beauty routine for your face and you never forget to lather your body with moisturizer but what about your feet? Your feet also need some TLC, especially during winter season. The skin of your soles does not have sebaceous glands and can become dry. This can lead to cracked heels, itching, callous and corns. You can treat these problems by soaking your feet in warm water, scrubbing and applying moisturizing cream. Soaking will soften your skin and help in getting rid of the dead skin by scrubbing. After scrubbing, apply a generous amount of nourishing foot cream to treat the cracked heels and other issues. There are several foot creams available in the market but you can also make it at home. The homemade creams using natural products will heal your heels without irritating the skin or causing other side effects. Lavender oil
You will need: 15 drops of lavender essential oil, 1/2 a cup of shea butter and 3/4 cup of coconut oil
Method: Take shea butter in a pan and coconut oil. Place the pan on low heat and melt the ingredients. Once the butter melts, add lavender oil. Cool it and store it in a jar. Use this cream to massage your feet every night. After applying the cream, put on socks. You will be amazed by the soft skin in the morning.
You will need: 15 drops of peppermint essential oil, two tablespoons of olive oil, 1/4 cup of coconut oil and 1/4 cup of shea butter.
Method: Take the shea butter in a pan and add coconut oil and olive oil to it. Heat the pan on low flame and let the ingredients melt. Once it is done, take it off the flame and add the peppermint oil. Mix it with a blender and store it in a jar. Apply this cream on your heels at night and cover it by wearing a sock. Lemon essential oil
You will need: 10 drops of ginger essential oil, 10 drops of lemon essential oil, two tablespoons of almond oil, 15 grams of bees wax, 15 grams of coconut oil and 15 grams of cocoa butter.
Method: Take the bees wax, coconut oil and cocoa butter in a pan. Place the pan on low flame and add the almond oil. Let the ingredients melt. Now, take it off the flame and add the essential oils. Mix well and store it in a jar. Apply this mixture on your feet before going to sleep and cover them by putting on socks.
You will need: two tablespoons of milk, one cup of honey and juice of half an orange.
Method: Put the milk and honey in a pan and warm it up on a low flame. Add the orange juice and stir it. Take it off the flame and let it cool. Store it in a jar. Every night before going to bed, apply this cream. Leave it for about 40 minutes and then use warm water to wash it off. You can do this every alternate day. Tea tree oil
You will need: 10 drops of tea tree oil, 1/4 cup of cocoa butter, 1/4 cup of olive oil and 20 grams of bees wax.
Method: Take the cocoa butter, olive oil and bees wax in a pan and heat it up on low flame. Melt the ingredients and take then take the pan off the flame. Now, add the tea tree oil to it. You can also add peppermint oil to it. Mix well and store it in a jar. Apply this cream after you come out of the shower and then before sleeping.
These natural creams will not only treat the cracked heels but will also nourish the skin making it soft and healthy.
