One of the best and most cost-effective fabrics you can wear in summer is undoubtedly cotton. The breathable fabric is easily available in India and largely worn as well by children as well as adults. Light colors especially white and cream shades rule the house when it comes to cotton outfits but now, brands offer other hues as well that one can choose from. Cotton garments range from dresses to kurtas to tops and even pants and are certainly a blessing on hot days. Linen


If there is one fabric that is simply the best in any season, it is linen. But more so in the summer as it is airy and do not stick to the body. Khadi, one of the oldest fabrics found in India, this fabric has made a comeback in the market thanks to fashion designers showcasing it on the ramp in a chic way. Khadi is one of the most comfortable fabrics for summer and looks elegant too. It is hand-woven cotton and that is why it resembles it. Chanderi


Chanderi, is a lightweight fabric that makes it apt for summer. It is also available in bright colors and has a slight sheen to it which makes it wearable for parities as well. Chanderi is a blend of cotton with light silk and some zari. You can buy kurtras as well as Chanderi sarees. It isn’t too commonly found in western wear yet. The fabric is wearable and also looks good.

Chambray

Chambray is a blended fabric that resembles denim but is actually cotton-silk or linen with a colored and white yarn. It is cheaper than linen but slightly more expensive than cotton and is the perfect replacement for your jeans in the summer. You will find shirts, pants, skirts and tops available in chambray fabric.
