Located at THE best location in the whole of Mumbai, Pizza by the Bay serves an amazing array of pizzas which you can munch on, while watching the sun set on the horizon of the Arabian Sea. Pizza By the Bay have amazing wood fired pizzas gorumet which are so good, you won’t feel guilty at all to splurge on them, every once in a while. And trust us, there WILL be more than one visit to this joint, which is one of the foremost pizza places in the city. The best part is the quad pizza- a customized pizza with different flavours in one.

You will leave this place feeling happily stuffed, without making a huge hole in your pocket.

6. Juno’s Pizza
What to Have: House Special Pizza(cheese, garlic and capsicum)
Juno’s was born our of a home made pizza experiment done just right. Started in 1974, by the current owner’s grandmother, Juno’s were the pizza delivery pioneers, starting out with delivering the vegetarian and ‘uniquely Indian’ garlic and capsicum pizza. The pizzeria has now expanded to five locations, and they still only serve vegetarian pizzas, but their menu has expanded to include other vegetarian ingredients. However, the original one is still our personal favourite.

7. Jamjar Diner
What to Have: Meat Feast (chicken, pork, bacon, ham)

This quaint and cosy diner in Versova, which is a hot favourite with the Andheri peeps, also serves some pretty awesome and pretty mean pizzas. The place is not cheap, but when it comes to feasting on their meat pizzas, we would recommend you to not hold back. For the carnivores, the meat feast is the ultimate choice as the pizza comes loaded with four types of meat. For vegetarians, farm fresh pizza is a great option.

8. Leaping Windows
What to Have: Chicken mushroom and pesto pizza
If given the chance, we would prefer to live in Leaping Windows, please. This tiny little cafe cum comic library cum eatery is, by far, our most favourite place in the city. Their basement reading room can only be described as a nerd’s paradise, filled as it is with all sorts of graphic novels and comic books. They also serve breakfast all day- LIFE=SORTED. Their portions are large, in the true American style, unlike the stingy Indian portions. When it comes to pizzas, Leaping Windows doesn’t disappoint either, with the chicken mushroom and pesto pizza being our favourite.

9. Ray’s Cafe and Pizzeria
What to Have: El Greco Pizza ( Greek feta cheese, spinach and black olives on tomato base) and Proscuitto e Rucola (cheese pizza with ham and rocket lettuce)
A tiny little place emanating old world charm and located in Bandra, Ray’s is one of our favourites when it comes to late night hang outs with friends. The place is known for the fresh ingredients in their pizzas, baked in stone ovens. This is the place that bonafide Bandra boys swear by for casual get togethers and pizzas.

10. Woodside Inn
What to Have: Goan Chorizo and peppered onions pizza
This classy dinner place in Colaba has been a hot favourite amongst shoppers, who flock here after exhausting themselves in the nearby flea market. The place is better known for its liquor collection and Italian food. The Goan chorizo with peppered onion is their highest selling pizza, but lately people have been complaining that the quality of the pizza and its taste has gone down.

11. Indigo Deli
What to Have: Spanish ham (with charred pineapple, cheddar cheese, bacon jam)
A pioneer in the deli experience in India, as well as introducing authentic Western comfort food, Indigo Deli’s pizzas are amongst the best in the city. The food here will make you feel relaxed, and you won’t mind the hole it will certainly burn in your pocket at all- because it’ll all be worth it. Their wafer thin pizzas feel like fresh out of a Sicilian pizzeria. The three smoked peppers and three cheese pizza is a great option for vegetarians, while the non-vegetarians can go gaga over the Spanish ham pizza (has pineapple topping, but trust us you will like it).

12. Pizza Express, Colaba
What to Have: Calabrese Pizza
Pizza Express has branches in Mumbai, Delhi and NCR and is quite popular amongst pizza lovers in all three cities. The place offers the option to personalize your pizzas, and build it from the base. Pizza Express brings authenticity to their pizzas, which is rare with other restaurants who are their competition. The Calabrese pizza, which is their specialty and has Italian sausage, spicy sausage, red chillies, jalapenos, red and yellow peppers along with mozzarella and baby mozzarella and seasoned with Italian seasoning, is our favourite.

This awesome pizzeria imported to India from London, was earlier known as the Pizza Metro Pizza. The decor of the place is a delightful mix of chic and classy and the menu boats of comfort food of the most sinful kind. Gustoso welcomes you with a pink vespa at their door and an open kitchen in the center and a huge wood fired oven. Their main attraction is the meter-long pizza, which is made by merging four different pizzas and which serves upto five people. Their chocolate desserts are also quite well known and are perfect for a all-out cheat day. The Marinara pizza is the best for vegetarians, whereas the Salsiccia E Broccoli is the best for all the carnivores.

Imagine having the essence of Italy delivered to you at your door…. Yes, Trattoria at Vivanta by Taj has started taking delivery orders online! The pizzas here are by no means cheap, but they will definitely save you a trip to the best Southern Italian districts, by giving you the taste of the traditional oven made pizzas with flavours which will make you go ‘Mamamia!’ For the vegetarians, the classic Italian tomato and basil pizza is the best. For the non vegetarians, the Ham and Mushroom pizza is a must have.

The Carne Asada Pizza is a very new and very welcome addition to the already eniticing menu of California Pizza Kitchen. The pizza has tender marinated steak, fire-roasted poblanos, cilantro pesto, yellow onions, Mozzarella, Monterey Jack and fresh cilantro and is served with housemade salsa verde. For vegetarians who love the spice of life, the Albuquerque Pizza is the best option.

16. Playlist Pizzeria
What to Have: Californication (Veg) and Echo Pizza (non-veg)
This simple, no-frills food joint is churning out some of the best pizzas in town. They have a semi-open kitchen and you can customize your pizzas by choosing the size, the base, sauces and the toppings. Don’t get cheesed off (pun intended) by the cheesy titles of some of their pizzas. The taste will not disappoint. They have a cookie pizza has well to satiate your ever-craving sweet tooth. The also have a jukebox (hence the name) with a wide selection of English and Bollywood songs.

What to Have: BBQ chicken and Pizza Tertullia ahh
Located in Shivaji Park in Dadar, (a bit ironical for one of the best pizza places in the city, don’t you think), Tertullia is a quaint and cosy yet classy eatery, which offers a wide range of pizza options. Their thin crust pizzas are to die for, with the BBQ chicken and mozzarella pizza, with chunky and juicy chicken pieces and classic marinara sauce being our favourite. Another one of our favourites is their signature tertullia pizza, with creamy spinach, tossed rucola, scarmozan parmigiano drizzled with olive oil.

18. 212 All Day Cafe and Bar
What to Have: Pizza Bolognaise
No fancy decor or menu, just plain simple and delicious food. The 212 All Day Cafe, which opened just last year, has quickly become known for its amazing flatbread pizzas, our most favourite amongst which is Pizza Bolognaise with spicy minced lamb and assorted peppers. For vegetarians, the Quattro Formaggio, with two types of delicious cheeses, is the best.

What to Have: Pizza Prego
Prego at Westin Goregaon is known for its Italian fine dining experience with all their Italian dishes being bang on in flavours and spices. The thin crust pizzas are delightfully crunch and their smoky flavour shines through the taste of the sauces and toppings. For vegetarians, the classical margherita is the best option, although the Quattro Stagioni is a good gamble. Non-vegetarians are bound to get a great bang for their buck by choosing the Pizza Prego with barbecued lobster, red onion sauce and kalamata olives.

What to Have: Celini Pizza (veg) and Capriciossa Pizza (non-veg)
Celini at Grand Hyatt in Santa Cruz is known for its pastas and raviolis, but their pizzas are pretty great too, with perfectly tangy sauces and garden fresh vegetarian toppings. Their meat is well cooked, which is why we would advise the carnivores to choose a thin crust base with their meaty pizzas. The Celini pizza is for the salad lovers- a bonafide vegetarian’s delight with fried eggplant, fresh basil and sun dried tomatoes.
