The body undergoes several changes and it is important to listen to your body and pay attention to those unexplained changes. Sometimes, the changes you see in your body may seem normal but it can be a sign of cancer. The most common types of cancers in women are breast cancer, endometrial cancer, colon cancer and ovarian cancer. Knowing the symptoms of the cancer will help you to identify them early and consult your doctor for the treatment. Here is a list of signs and symptoms that you shouldn’t ignore. 1. Changes in breasts

Check for any lumps, skin dimpling, changes in nipple, nipple discharge, skin puckering or redness on your breast skin or the nipples. Talk to your doctor and get the necessary tests done to know the cause of these changes. Usually, for breast cancer, biopsy or mammograms are done.

2. Shortness of breath

3. Abnormal vaginal bleeding

Do not ignore any abnormal vaginal bleeding, bleeding between periods or bleeding during sex. These are the symptoms of gynecologic cancer like cervical cancer, ovarian cancer and endometrial cancer.

4. Bloating

It is normal for women to bloat but it becomes a problem if it continues for more than a couple of weeks. If your bloating doesn’t subside and is accompanied by bleeding and weight loss, then see your doctor immediately. 5. Chronic chest pain

Chest pain is a common symptom of bronchitis or a bad cough but people with lung cancer have reported chest pain and this pain extends down the arm and up to the shoulder.

6. Changes in your skin

If there is a change in the colour, shape or size of a mole, see your doctor. It can be a sign of skin cancer. You should not wait too long if you see any change in your mole or other spot.

7. Trouble in swallowing

8. Blood in your stool or urine

If there is any bleeding from a body part that normally doesn’t bleed, talk to your doctor and more so, if the bleed lasts more than a day. Most of the time blood in stool is due to hemorrhoids but it is also a sign of colon cancer. The early sign of kidney or bladder cancer is blood in urine.

9. Excessive bleeding from wound

Excessive bruising or bleeding is a sign that something is not right with the red blood cells and platelets, which can be a symptom of leukemia.

10. Patches inside mouth

Red or white patches on the lips or inside the mouth are symptoms of oral cancer. Let you dentist, or your doctor check it.
