After waiting for what must have felt like an eternity, the fans of British rock band Coldplay are just a few minutes away from the debut performance of British rock band Coldplay in India.

The Global Citizen Festival 2016 started with a pledge for change and for betterment. The theme and backdrop of the Global Citizen Festival 2016 is red, be it the lights or the set. The event started with popular personalities like Farhan Akhtar, Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan talking about various causes and initiatives, about eradicating poverty in India and how sanitation will bring about a change.

Jay Z took everyone by surprise when he stepped onto the stage with Shah Rukh Khan’s Chaiyya Chaiyya song playing in the background. The rapper performed all his songs with a perfect mix of Punjabi songs! Jay Z had the crowd going crazy with his upbeat songs, he also made sure to include a couple of songs that originally featured Beyonce like Drunk in Love and Holy Grail.

Soon the Brit band Coldplay will also be performing in front of the audience live at the MMRDA. There’s Amitabh Bachchan, A.R. Rahman, Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, Parineeti Chopra, Ranveer Singh who will also be joining the event.
