Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone is sort of an all-rounder. She’s a sex siren, with killer looks and acting skills to match. Lately she has been killing it on the international scene, with her role as the badass Serena in xXx: Return of Xander Cage opposite Vin Diesel, already raising global temperatures. However, what we hadn’t been seeing enough of lately, was the leggy lass channeling her inner sporty self. But she has made up for it, with this oh-so-sexy photoshoot for American women’s Health magazine, Self.

Deepika is killing it in the sporty photoshoot, where she can be seen flaunting her perfectly sculpted torso and her never-ending long legs. The Ramleela actress looks super fit as always, with not an inch of fat in the wrong places. Deepika is seen posing with sports and fitness gear, and is wearing designer sports wear from various International fashion houses. The shoot is for the January, February issue of the magazine, which also features an interview with Deepika, where she talks about her love for sports and what it has taught her. ALSO READ: Best midnight snacks for weight loss: Top 10 yummy and guilt-free foods you can snack on in the night

The interview by Self writer Molly Knight, is titled, ‘Meet Deepika’ and highlights the actress’s dedication to sports and fitness and the secret to her svelte body. “Sports taught me discipline and dedication”, Padukone says in the interview, adding,”In the film industry, you’re part of a team.” Deepika also touches upon the sombre topic of depression, narrating how the ‘athlete in her’ helped her fight the debilitating mental illness.

She had also highlighted the emotional benefits of exercise and fitness when she had done a video for International sports brand Nike. The video, which had featured Deepika and other Indian sports women and actors, had gone viral on social media, for its catchy and energetic song da da ding, and was downloaded more than 2 million times in the first 12 hours of its release. ALSO READ: Winter Foods for Weight Loss: Top 10 superfoods to eat this winter to loose that extra festive weight!

In the interview with Self, Deepika shares some of her life hacks that she religiously follows in order to keep fit, and also raises a pertinent issue about practicing sports and fitness for maintaining both physical and mental health, versus keeping fit to look good. A lot of people cannot maintain a regular workout routine, as they don’t realize the difference a healthy lifestyle makes, to one’s overall outlook and perception of life. Working out to look good is more popular and in the rat race to gain more attention than the person next door, people engage in unhealthy practices like starving themselves to reduce weight.

Deepika’s interview also busts some myths about fitness, saying that keeping healthy is a daily process and not just about working out for an hour in the gym. “Health and fitness is a lifestyle, not something you do for an hour a day”, she said. “I’m passionate about it- not because of the way it makes me look, but because of the way it makes me feel”, she added. ALSO READ: Selena Gomez raunchy bikini GQ Photo Shoot 2016!
