Deepika Padukone wore a fabulous chikankari lehenga at her Mumbai wedding reception that was held recently. The actress looked like a royalty posing for the shutterbugs, wearing the stunning creation by designer by Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla. The designer duo now has posted a clip on Instagram revealing what it took to curate the heavily embroidered ivory and gold outfit for Deepika.

Let’s see what was special about Deepika’s outfit first. The first thing you’ll notice immediately after looking at her pictures from the reception is that giant veil. Deepika wore a long veil on her head that acted as a trail. She had draped her dupatta like a sare pallu that gave more edge to her bridal look. From head to toe, the actress was decked up in the creations by the designer duo. Even her statement jewellery was from Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla. Deepika rocked every bit of her look.

In the video posted by the designers, it is clear that it took a lot of efforts and hard work of days and nights to complete their vision. The voice of the designer in the video explains what were they thinking while finalising that look for Deepika. “Chikankari is something that Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla own. We decided to give her many draped to carry. It took us approximately 16000 man-hours to make Deepika’s ensemble”, the designer can be heard saying.

The fact that Deepika looked absolutely ethereal in that AS outfit aside, it also seemed like a fresh pace of change from her back-to-back Sabyasachi looks. Not that she didn’t look good in those; she did, of course! However, taking a break from one designer and rocking something from an equally celebrated designer appears more fantastic. Deepika’s look was one of its kind. We can’t now wait to see what she wears to her last wedding reception in Mumbai tomorrow, December 1.
