These days, the fruits and vegetable you get in the market are laden with chemicals and when you eat them you end up ingesting the chemicals with them. Apart from the growth regulators and pesticides present in the vegetable and fruits, you are exposed to so many other toxins present in the air, fast foods, toys, cosmetics and detergents. These chemicals and toxins are said to be the reason for increasing rate of cancer and infertility. You need to get rid of the everyday toxins from your body and this is why you need detoxification. Detoxification is a process to transform, neutralize or get rid of the toxins or the chemicals from the body. Your body has its own detoxification system in place but you need to support it for proper functioning. Here are three basic steps to detox your body. 1. Drink lots of water
Your body flushes out the toxin through stool, sweating and urination, which leads to loss of water. So, it is important to drink sufficient amount of water to keep your body hydrated to allow free movement of toxins out of the cells and the body. It is recommended to drink about two liters of water in a day. You can also drink fruit juices for healthy detoxification.
2. Make sure your digestive system is healthy
Food rich in fiber
One of the ways to get rid of the toxin is excretion, so make sure your digestive system is healthy when you start a cleansing program. If you have digestion issues like constipation, the waste material will stay in your body for a longer duration before it is eliminated and during this period the toxins may get reabsorbed by the body. So, it is important to keep you gut healthy before you start a detox program and you can improve the health of your digestive tract by consuming fiber, which will clean your gastrointestinal tract. Fiber absorbs the toxins and also regulates bowel movement. Beans, nuts, non-starchy vegetables and flax seeds are some of the sources of fiber. 3. Keep your liver healthy
Liver is the primary organ where metabolic detoxification happens. The organ separates the toxin and the nutrients from the circulation. In the first phase, liver makes the toxins soluble in water and in the second phase, it repackages the toxin for safe removal. You need to make sure that your liver is healthy to produce enzymes required for the removal of toxins. Consuming sprouts, broccoli and green tea will help streamline liver’s process of toxin removal.
