Dhai Kilo Prem Actress Anjali Anand Walks the Ramp for Wendell Rodricks’ Plus Size Show at Lakme Fashion Week 2017!

Wendell Rodricks broke all the stereotypes on the ramp by presenting the 'aLL PRIMERO' collection at the plus size show at the Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017.

This year the Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017 is getting bigger and better, and ace designer Wendell Rodricks broke all the stereotypes on the ramp by presenting the ‘aLL PRIMERO’ collection at the plus size show at Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Winter/Festive 2017 on the fourth day of LFW. This particular show broke all the myths about plus size fashion where color, style and fabrics were concerned with designs made to flatter men and women with great curves and ample muscles like the Apple, Pear, Hourglass, Rectangle and Carrot shapes. Popular television serial Dhai Kilo Prem actress Anjali Anand was also part of the show! The Plus Size Store launched its PRIMERO collection with Rodricks at the fashion gala seeking to break popular myths regarding plus size clothing in the fashion industry.And, it was India’s first transgender plus size model, Varonica Campabell who opened the show, followed by 20 other plus size models who walked the ramp. All these models were selected for the Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017, through an audition held in June. The fabric of Wendell Rodricks’ collection were primarily moss crepe, Lycra, cotton, satin, jacquard, polyester georgette, single jersey, Lycra cotton and mercerized Giza for men’s T-shirts. Linen dobby stripes were an interesting part along with over-dyed twill Lycra that was perfect for men’s and women’s jeans.

Men’s shirts featured deconstructed plackets, mull bundies, tunics, and twill cotton. The Lycra shirts with contrast stitch detail, poly knits, silver speck foil prints, crush pleated poly georgette and pewter shine stripes completed the extensive fabrics and detailing choices.

Women’s wear was dominated by a kaleidoscope of colors as fluid creations floated down the ramp on the jaunty confident models. Layered tunics, asymmetric gowns, swinging dresses, capes and kaftans with silver heart motifs.
