New Delhi: With the rapidly increasing Covid-19 cases in the country, Karnataka recorded 2,479 infections and four deaths on Tuesday. This takes the cumulative infections and fatalities to 30,13,326 and 38,355 respectively, the health department said.
In view of this, the Karnataka government has tightened Covid-related restrictions and curbs to contain the surge in cases in the state. The state government has decided to make a negative RT-PCR test report mandatory for those coming to Karnataka from Maharashtra, Kerala and Goa.

Night Curfew will continue to be imposed from 10 pm to 5 am in the entire state for the next two weeks. All offices to function 5 days a week from Monday to Friday during this period.
The Government Secretariat will run with officials below the rank of Under Secretary at 50 per cent of the total working strength.
The Public transport including Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) will operate as per the directions of the Chief Executive of the organisation to cater to the needs of people for emergency purposes during the weekend curfew.
In Bengaluru Urban district, all schools and colleges except, medical and para medical will remain closed with effect from January 6 except class X, XI and XII.
Pubs, clubs, restaurants, bars, hotels, eating places in hotels etc will function with 50 per cent of the seating capacity strictly adhering to COVID appropriate behaviour. Only vaccinated persons will be allowed to enter the premises.
Cinema halls, multiplexes, theatres, rangamandiras, auditorium and similar places to operate with 50 per cent of its seating capacity strictly. The entry to such places has been restricted to fully vaccinated persons.
Marriage functions are permitted to be conducted involving not more than 200 people in open spaces and 100 people in closed places.
Religious places are allowed to open only for Darshan. No seva, etc, is allowed. Entry of people will be restricted to 50 persons at any given time who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Malls, shopping complexes, all stand-alone shops and establishments shall operate as usual during weekdays.
Swimming pools and gyms allowed to operate at 50 per cent, but the entry will be restricted to fully vaccinated persons.
Sports complexes and Stadia are allowed to function with 50 per cent capacity.
All rallies, dharnas, protests are prohibited.
There shall be intensive surveillance at the borders of Kerala, Goa and Maharashtra as per the prevailing circular/guidelines issued by Department of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. Of Karnataka.
