Hariyali Teej is an Indian festival celebrated by women in North India with lot of enthusiasm and gusto! The festival falls on the third day of the first fortnight of the auspicious month of Shravan.  The devotees of Shiva and Parvati celebrate the event remembering the reunion of the two on this day. Married women observe a fast on Hariyali Teej to seek wellness and long life of their husband and unmarried women also abstain from food and drinks with a hope of being blessed with a good husband. On this day, women clad themselves in traditional outfits, mostly, green or red, wear green bangles and adorn their hands with intricate henna designs. They also perform a traditional pooja and worship the moon. Women celebrate this auspicious day by chanting hymns, dancing and singing. If you want to look your best on this day, we share with you how to nail the traditional Teej makeup look. Here is a step-by-step guide to get your traditional makeup right. STEP 2: Start applying foundation all over your face and neck and blend it using a makeup sponge. Make sure that you blend in the product well, so that you get an even finish.

STEP 3: Use concealer under your eyes, on the bridge on the nose, on your cheeks, forehead and on any blemishes. Blend the concealer and then set it using some translucent powder.

STEP 4: Contour your cheekbones, hairline, bridge of the nose and jawline. Blend it well to bring out your features. Apply some blush to add a pop of color on your cheeks.

STEP 5: Define your brows using an eyebrow pencil. Fill in the gaps and define the arch using a spoolie brush the blend the lines.

STEP 6:  To get flawless eye makeup, use some primer. This will give you an even skin tone, conceal dark patches and make your eyeshadow look more prominent. Apply the eyeshadow  over your lids, some highlighter on the brow bone and a darker shade of the eyeshadow on the crease. Blend the eyeshadow well.

STEP 7: Use eyeliner to get the perfect winged look followed by using some kohl on the waterline.

STEP 8: Use mascara to define your lashes. You will just need some mascara to open up your eyes.

STEP 9: Use a red lip liner and define your lips followed by using the same colored lipstick to fill in the rest of your lips.
