Our bodies are made up of about 60 percent of water and it is a common suggestion to drink eight glasses of water in a day. The eight glasses of water a day is just a rule and not based on any scientific proof but it is important to drink sufficient amount of water to stay hydrated and maintain the fluid balance of the body. Drinking enough water will help regulate the temperature of the body, transport nutrients and digest food. Plus, water has no fat, sugar, calories or carbohydrate, making it the healthiest drink. You need to drink water to replace the fluid loss from urine, evaporation, sweating and breathing. The loss of fluid is accentuated during exercise and in the warm climate.
