‘Breakfast is the most important meal of the day’. You start your day with the breakfast and it is critical for your mental and physical well-being. It energises you to go about your daily work. In India, we are used to indulge in big breakfast like paratha with a big dollop of butter, puri and bhaji, poha, masala dosa etc. Although these food items are delicious, it is not a very healthy breakfast option if you consider the fat content. Also, you need time to make most of the Indian breakfast foods and time is what you do not have in the morning when you are rushing to get ready and reach your workplace on time. So, here we present you three simple breakfast recipes that you can make in minutes in a microwave. Made with eggs, oats and bananas, these breakfast items will charge you up in the morning. 1. Egg with mixed vegetables
1 tablespoon of milk.
1 teaspoon of melted butter.
1 teaspoon of grated cheese.
Diced onion, capsicum, carrots, tomatoes.
Take a microwaveable cup of small bowl. Add the butter and melt it by microwaving it for 10 to 15 seconds. Add egg, milk, diced veggies and mix it. Season it with salt and pepper. Now microwave it for 1 minute and 30 second on high. Take out the cup/bowl and use a spoon to loosen the egg from the container. Your egg with vegetables is ready. You can top it with grated cheese and eat it like this or place it in between two slices of brown bread for an instant sandwich.
2. Baked oatmeal with banana and apple
1/2 a cup of oats.
1/2 cup milk.
1/2 diced apple.
1/3 banana mash.
2 teaspoon of honey.
A pinch of cinnamon.
Take a microwavable cup or small bowl. Add oats, milk, banana, apple, honey and cinnamon in the cup/bowl. Mix the ingredients well and microwave it for 2 to 3 minutes on high. Take out the bowl and dig in. You can top it with little cinnamon and sugar.
3. French toast in a cup
2 slices of bread.
3 tablespoon of milk.
1 teaspoon of butter.
A pinch of cinnamon or 2 drops of vanilla extract.
Take slices of bread and cut it into cubes. Put the bread cubes into a microwavable cup. Now in other bowl add butter, milk, egg, honey and cinnamon or vanilla extract. Mix it well to combine all the ingredients and then pour it over the bread cubes. Let it sit for a minute so that the bread is all soaked in that amazing buttery mixture. Now microwave it for 1 minute and 30 seconds on high. Take out the cup and top it with some honey or whipped cream. Your delicious French toast is ready.
