1. Alpa Rama – Style Blogger

Alpa Rama is literally a Parisian-Indian GODDESS! When asked to describe her style in three words, she humbly said, “minimalistic, chic and classic,” but we see much more—an effortless transitional fashion sense that’s both exotic and familiar. Founder and mastermind behind A Parisian in America, this uber-stylish blogger takes inspiration from her growing up years in Paris, American lifestyle (she currently lives in Florida), and her Eastern roots. Alpa tends to reach for black when it comes to her wardrobe, but she simply cannot wait to introduce pops of bright color from 2016’s trend forecast. She suggests having fun with style while identifying (and sticking to) your likes, organizing your closet accordingly, giving away the dislikes (because let’s face it—you’re never going to wear them), and investing in accessories to style your must-keep pile in countless ways.

Her blog, That Girl Posh, says everything about Roshini Daswani’s feminine and chic style! Roshini (Rosh), who by the way just got married and looked like a real life Princess Jasmin, is a wanderlust who grew up in Hong Kong and has worked in London and Bahrain. This fashionista exudes a fun, flirty style that is balanced with just the right dose of edge. If you stalk her insta-style (as we have), you’ll see she loves to choose a girly basic and layer, layer, layer from there to create visual interest. A rose quartz/baby pink skirt for example (which is one of 2016’s Pantone colors of the year) is elevated with a cool, grey crop and an edgy ivory vest as shown in the image below. Moral of the story with Rosh you may ask— heighten soft beauty and delicate elements with an unexpected rocker-girl twist.

3. Melanie Chandra – Actress

An emerging household name, Melanie Chandra, is a gorgeous Starlet from CBS hit, Code Black. She may play a doctor in scrubs on screen, but her personal style is far from uniform. Melanie’s wedding, for example, held in beautiful Turks & Caicos in 2015, was symbolic of her effortless, yet fashion-forward wardrobe sense. The new bride chose nothing but the best to design her wedding trousseaus (fun fact: design legend Manish Malhotra personally helped style Melanie’s wedding looks). For her mehndi night, Melanie chose a bohemian-glam lehenga by Manish Arora, infused with happy pops of turquoise and pink. The sangeet lehenga of choice was a midnight blue, gotta-patti Manisha Malhotra lehenga with marsala dupatta; and the wedding ceremony look was another stunning design my Manish Malhotra in a vibrant red. The reception look was the elegant work of Sabyasachi, in pastel pinks and soft gold. All in all, Melanie’s wedding week style perfectly complemented her breathtaking natural beauty. A lesson learned from this Starlet—be true to you, always, and your look will forever be complete.

Akanksha Redhu started her blogging journey in 2010, and today, this lovely New Delhi lady has more than 26,000 followers on Instagram alone and a devout fashion fan base! As we perused through her social media and blog, we saw a common thread in her style—eclectic-beauty! This ombre-bobbed fashionista chooses bold prints, rich jewel tones, and elegant details to balance her vibrant South Asian flare with -her eye for chic. Her blog suggests creating looks that mesh daring urban-streetstyle with girl-next-door femininity. She’ll pair a cool bomber jacket, for example, with chandelier earrings and bejeweled clutch (look here); or an embellished silk dress with platform hippie-esque boots (look here). Akanksha’s style is perfectly and thoughtfully curated, blending the most interesting parts of her personality beautifully.

This business-minded fashionista has made her name in Bollywood and beyond through her brilliant online sales platform, Pernia’s Pop-up Shop. Her resume goes far beyond the site, including her work with Harpars Bazaar, Elle, and most recently, her acting debut in Muzzafar Ali’s “Jaanisar.” Pernia is a stylista to follow for a multitude of reasons, but what caught our eye is her insane ability to beautifully experiment with Indian wear. She never wears a simplistic traditional look – forever styling her looks with a modern twist. She’ll pair an embellished blazer-silhouette with a dhoti pant, or a cape-choli (yes, you read that correctly) with an elegant lehenga skirt. She tends to choose lighter hues, and many times even opts for white, but the chosen silhouette always speaks volumes. If you don’t know who Pernia is by now, we suggest you ask someone FAST! She’s someone to style-watch!
