Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez has been known to be a fitness enthusiast and has a svelte and an incredibly enviable body to vouch for that fact. That the beauty has a disciplined workout regime is a fact well known. But very few know about her equally careful eating choices that compliment her exercise routines and keep her fit and healthy. Shonali Sabherwal, who is a favourite with a couple of other Bollywood actors including Neha Dhupia and Siddharth Malhotra as well, told vogue.in that Jacqueline typically does detox routines with her. According to her, a couple of meals in Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandez’s daily diet are vegan, with the actress preferring the kefir milk instead of dairy milk and milk products. Kombucha was called by the ancient Chinese as the “Immortal Health Elixir” and has been around for over a 2000 years. It’s basically a fermented beverage of black tea and sugar and is supposed to be high on probiotics. Kombucha has also been known to improve digestion, aid weight loss, boost immunity, and cleanse and detoxify the system. Another food that Shonali adds in Fernandez’s meals is the sauerkraut, which is basically fermented cabbage and it’s a is a source of vitamins B, K and C. It’s also low in calories, and high in dietary fiber, folate, iron, potassium, copper and manganese, besides of course, probiotics.  Sabherwal also revealed that sometimes she puts Jacqueline on  a strictly raw juice diet, which basically involves cutting down on cooked, processed foods and animal products and adding more and more raw fruits and vegetables to the daily meals. However, there is one ingredient that Shonali told Vogue that Fernandez absolutely swears by to maintain her health and fitness. “The routine she (Jaqueline) swears by though”, Shonali told Vogue, is that of chugging down coconut oil.” Coconut oil is a health super food with its reservoir of healthy fats that help fight cholesterol in the blood and also maintain blood sugar levels. People who consume high amounts of coconut oil in their diets have been known to have significantly low chances of developing heart diseases as well as obesity. Coconut oil is even better than olive oil when it comes to weight loss as the fats in coconut oil do not get stored in the body and with its super excellent nutrient profile that food is a favourite with those who have to watch their weight. Super model Miranda Kerr has also been known to swear by the coconut oil diet to maintain her sexy figure.

However, Shonali lets Jacqueline enjoy her occasional desserts by sending in some sugarless treats with her meals every once in a while. This is the reason Jaqueline calls Shonali Sabherwal her ‘tiffin mommy’!
