1. Make glow-in-the-dark nail polish using glow sticks
All you need to begin making your glow-in-the-dark nail polish is a glow stick, partly full nail polish bottle, scissors and a strainer. Pick a clear nail polish or one that matches the color of your glow stick. Now give a good shake to the glow stick and then snap it in half to activate it. Once you have cut the glow stick using the sharp scissors, pour it carefully into the bottle of nail polish that you have picked with a strainer over the mouth of the nail polish bottle before pouring in the glow stick liquid. Try not to spill it, because the liquid can stain certain surfaces and it you get it on your hands it might also irritate your skin. It might take longer to dry than your regular nail polish, so apply thinner coats. If you want a dark colored base apply multiple coats and then finish with a clear coat of nail polish. Though it may look dark and glowy, it will not last real long, it may only last for a few hours.

The glow-in-the-dark nail polish made from pigment powder is better than the one made using glow sticks because you can recharge this under bright light or sunlight, to bring back the faded glow. To make glow-in-the-dark nail polish using pigment powder, you need to have glow-in-the-dark pigment powder, clear nail polish and ball bearings. You will get the pigment powder in any arts, but try to get one that is non toxic or meant for cosmetic use, so that your don’t harm your skin. Drop two to three ball bearings into the nail polish bottle. They will help the pigment mix better into the polish. Now gradually pour in about one teaspoon of the glow-in-the-dark pigment powder into the bottle of the clear nail polish. If you want a sheer nail polish add less of the powder, for an opaque look add more. Once you have poured in all the powder, close the bottle tight and shake it vigorously. Paint your nails with your fresh batch of glow-in-the-dark pigment powder nail polish, let it dry and apply a clear coat over it.
3. Make glow-in-the-dark nail polish using UV-reactive or black light eye shadow
To make glow-in-the-dark nail polish using UV-reactive or black light eye shadow you need to have a bottle of clear nail polish, UV-reactive or black light eye shadow, Ziploc pouch, ball bearings. Take the powder base UV-reactive or black light eye shadow and put it in a Ziploc pouch. Seal it and then crush the powder using the blunt side of a pencil or a spoon to get a fine texture of the eye shadow without any lumps. Now drop a couple of ball bearings into the bottle of the clear nail polish before you pour the eye shadow into it. Put all the UV-reactive or black light eye shadow into the nail polish bottle, close the lid and shake the bottle. Apply it on your nails, allow it to dry and then apply another coat of clear nail polish to avoid chipping.
