Hair loss could be because of a number of reasons: dandruff, dirty scalp, stress, frequent chemical treatments, overuse of hair products including hairsprays and serums, hormonal changes, poor sleep, junk food and even family history. Weather changes and pollution could also cause hair loss. Thankfully, there are some DIY tips you can follow to prevent, stop and lessen hair fall. Instead of opting for popular shampoos and hair products, try these DIY methods and see what a difference they make. Make sure to follow these tips for at least a month to see the results.
1) Never ever comb your hair when it is wet. Always comb it after it has dried. When the hair is wet, it tends to be weaker and more prone to breakage.
2) Do regular oil massages. To do the oil massage, make sure to heat the oil first to make it warm. This enables the oil to penetrate deeper into the hair shaft and your scalp. When the oil goes deep in, it is able to nourish it better. Make sure to use organic, natural hair oils like castor oil, almond oil, coconut oil, amla oil and others. You could also combine 2 or more oils together or mix it with other ingredients like curry leaves, methi seeds, rosemary or hibiscus to make it more powerful. When doing the oil massage, don’t be harsh on your scalp, instead gently massage with your fingers (not your nails) in a circular motion.
3) Eggs have amazing hair strengthening properties. Just take the whole egg (only the yolk if your hair is dry and only the white if your hair is oily) and mix it with some aloe vera. Best it together and then apply on your hair for about 15- 20 minutes. Wash off with a mild shampoo and lukewarm water and dry.
4) Onion juice is a simple and effective solution for stopping hair loss. Just blend the onion in a juicer and take out its juice. Apply this on the scalp. Keep it on for about 30 minutes. Then wash off with a mild shampoo.
