But one person who does not wish to add to his fame is Bollywood Badshah – Shah Rukh Khan. The actor made it very obvious with his latest appearance in the first episode of Koffee With Karan Season 5.
Shah Rukh Khan in one of the newly introduced sessions on the show was asked by Karan Johar to read out a nursery rhyme ‘Mary Had A Little Lamb’ like ‘ brash, angry news reporter’. To give a better clarity on how does Shah Rukh has to act, Karan said ‘almost like Arnab Goswami’ to which the 51-year-old actor sassily cut the conversation short saying – Don’t make him famous! The dialogue accompanied with twitched eyebrows expression conveyed a lot about King Khan’s feelings for the self-proclaimed righteous journalist on television. Then he moved on to give one of the best impressions of Arnab Goswami ever done and seen.
The inaugural episode of Koffee With Karan fifth season with Shah Rukh and his Dear Zindagi co-star Alia Bhatt was all hunky dory, but there were few loaded with meaning. Talking to Karan Johar about their so-called rift after the actor did not make to the show in last season, Shah Rukh said – “I have to justify my nationalism, and you have to justify your love for me.” This statement reflected how deeply the sensitive topic concerns him. Shah Rukh Khan who has often found himself in trouble over the nationalism debate with the fringe-minded self-appointed patriots showed his calmer side on the show.
Goswami who shot to popularity with his prime time debate show ‘The News Hour’ recently resigned from the post of Editor-in-Chief of Times Now, ET Now and Magicbricks Now. The news of the famed anchor who prospered courtesy his ‘accusing sensationalist journalism’ resigning sent the country with a dedicated audience base in a tizzy. Maybe, the nation will miss his antics on 9 pm slot till he comes up with another maverick show, just like Kapil Sharma did. As for Shah Rukh’s despise towards him on the show is concerned, well that could be the next big topic to discuss on The News Hour!
